On April 29^th, Tomohiro Horikawa, President of Shizuoka Sangyo University (SSU), and Kazuhiko Tabata, Vice President of SSU visited Xiamen University (XMU), and Shi Dalin, Vice President of Xiamen University (XMU) met with the guests.

In the afternoon, President Tomohiro Horikawa and his delegation visited International College(IC), XMU. Tao Tao, Dean of IC, Ma Xianghua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, IC, Yan Sa, Head of the Japanese Language Teaching and Research Group and Ai Hao, Office Director participated in the discussion and exchange.

Dean Tao welcomed the arrival of President Tomohiro Horikawa and his delegation, saying that this was the fifth meeting between him and President Horikawa in the last six years since 2018, and that this close exchange was an important factor in ensuring the smooth development of the cooperation program. He pointed out that in recent years, IC has further clarified its positioning, continuously improved the quality of teaching and student management, and improved the training effect year by year, and the program has become the most successful international undergraduate 2+2 program of IC, which has won high satisfaction from students, partner universities and society. It is hoped that the two sides can work together to continue to maintain the good development of the educational exchange program between the two universities.

President Tomohiro Horikawa said that the training of international students is of great significance to the development of the two universities, the two countries and even the global industrial economy, and hoped that in the future, the two sides can strengthen exchanges in student training and teaching seminars, so as to promote the continued and stable development of cooperation program.

The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on further optimizing the training program and sending teachers from SSU to teach at IC.

Subsequently, President Tomohiro Horikawa and his delegation had a discussion and exchange with the students of IC to help them better understand the overview of SSU, application requirements, international student awards, study abroad majors, and further study and employment, and provide professional guidance for students to study in Japan smoothly.

On April 30, Shizuoka Sangyo University held the 2024 Entrance Examination at IC to select students to study in Japan this fall, and a total of 53 students of IC took the exam. During the examination, the students had a solid basic knowledge of the major, active thinking, and a comprehensive understanding of Japanese history, culture and the latest information, which left a good impression on the Japanese teachers, and they spoke highly of the students' learning attitude, and expected them to successfully pass the examination and quickly adapt to the new study and life after going to Japan.
